A Taste of Prosecco and the Veneto

SEPTEMBER 12-18, 2021

Including a Special Concert with Andrea Bocelli Under The Stars

Rolling pasta in the kitchen of an Italian nonna, then dining ai fiori on your pillow-y soft pasta and fresh-from-the-garden veggies…
Wandering the verdant rows of vines hanging heavy with grapes about to be turned into prized Prosecco, the sweet smell of harvest in the air…
Sailing around the Venetian Lagoon on your private boat, past the iconic spires of St. Mark’s Square and shallow canals that melt into the deep blue Adriatic Sea…

Taking your seat beneath the stars as the orchestral music swells—and then hearing the singular voice of opera sensation Andrea Bocelli pierce the night …

On this intimate tour, the only decision you'll have to make is red or white.

Join Laney Sachs along with Veneto local Monica Busatto for 7 exceptional days and 6 nights exploring the Veneto, a region anchored by resplendent Venice and studded with picturesque medieval villages and vineyards.
Traveling during heady harvest season (vendemmia), we’ll prioritize Prosecco vineyard tours and tastings throughout our journey. We’ll check into our home base Albergo al Sole housed in a 16th-century villa—in the charming medieval town of Asolo, known as the Pearl of the Veneto. Our days will be filled with cooking classes, market tours, and wine tastings—and we’ll spend one very special night with the one and only Andrea Bocelli.

Our small group of 12* people will travel by our own comfortable minibus, with an entirely seamless itinerary designed for you. And don't worry, you'll have time to relax and spend time meandering on your own.

Here's what our itinerary** has in store:

Afternoon check in at the charming Albergo al Sole hotel with free time to settle into your thoughtfully curated room

Wander the cobblestone streets of Asolo; many of the artisan shops are open on Sunday

We'll enjoy our first taste of local cuisine and the first of many sips of Prosecco at a local restaurant just across the piazza

Day 1 September 12

Settle In

We’ll start our adventure together with a walk through a vineyard, a Prosecco cantina tour and tasting, and a wonderful lunch with a spectacular view out over the entire region

The afternoon brings a very special visit to a Cartizze vineyard, producer of the most exclusive type of Prosecco

A lovely osteria for dinner will be our home for the evening

Day 2 September 13

Prosecco Vineyard Visits

We’ll board our private boat to the Venetian Lagoon and cruise around the islands of Murano and Burano

Visit a glass factory on Murano, home to the famous Murano glass chandeliers, spy the candyland-colored houses of Burano, and then enjoy free time to explore on your own

And what better way to end the day than with dinner in gorgeous Venice! We’ll dine like royalty in The Floating City

Day 3 September 14

Venetian Lagoon Boating

You can’t visit Italy and not come home with a new recipe! Our cooking class is taught by a local nonna in her own home; after class, we'll enjoy lunch lovingly made with the fruits of our labor

Spend the late afternoon meandering around the winding alleys and beautiful shops in Asolo, or perhaps simply sit at a cafe and savor a Spritz; then join up again for an exciting dinner before our evening of music.

The night will be one to remember as we experience an unforgettable concert of Andrea Bocelli under the stars in the historic Piazza Castello in Marostica

Day 4 September 15

Cooking Class and a Night with Andrea Bocelli

Our morning excursion takes us to the medieval town of Bassano del Grappa on the Brenta River; Thursday is market day and you'll be able to shop like the locals, explore the town, visit the local ceramic shops, and have lunch on your own

As this is the home of Grappa, we'll visit one of the oldest Grappa distilleries for a guided tour and tasting

The evening brings us to relax and dine at a very special agriturismo surrounded by a stunning Prosecco vineyard

Day 5 September 16

Market Day & Grappa Tour

We start the day learning how to make pizza from a local pizzaiolo—breakfast has never tasted better!

Next is a behind-the-scenes visit to a buffalo mozzarella factory, where we'll see first-hand the attention that goes into producing this amazing cheese—you’ve never savored mozzarella like this before

Next, our private guide will lead us through canal-laced Treviso; you'll have free time to walk around on your own, have a bite to eat if you're still hungry, and browse in the artisan shops of this stunning city

In the evening, we'll relax and enjoy our final dinner together—raising our last glass of Prosecco to toast our trip!
